Gifts are for giving

A homeless man named 300 said he had so many stalkers that he was going to start handing out cards. I said he should just put his info on some paper and rip it in the shape of cards as that is something he can do right now. He  gave me a book called "Etiquette."

I think he wanted to remember me, and he wanted to think that he would be remembered. I guess that is what gifts are for. When I had no reason to connect to him, he gave me one.

Notice how these two come from economically different backgrounds but find support in each other. The homeless community provides A LOT of emotional support to each other.

 

Why are people fat? Food is the best reason we have to spend time with each other. When we don't have that, we still have food. For Kelsey, a jar of sauerkraut is a treat. A roadie is the person you travel with because there is saftey in numbers and appreciation. Everyone wants a roadie.

He talked about the joys of being homeless, the things that he loves. Loves are the most important we have. He knows that and says "what do you wake up to?"

I noticed that if you want to understand why someone feels the way they do, ask them to tell you about their first experience feeling that way. I do that with these people.
